PROPERTY DESCRIPTION Maison Calme is not a gite, shared or part of the owners house. Maison Calme is a large Loire style country Farmhouse which we purchased as our second home. Comfortably furnished as to standard, that we would hope to recieve if we the owners were renting this, for our own holiday in France. On touring France from North to South, West to East we have visited some very beautiful areas. Over a twenty five year period of renting houses and gites along the way, most I might add are very uncomfortable and very badly equipped, so our prime objective was to create a comfortable living space while keeping [De vie Francais] French style. Maison Calme is a large country house situated in Les Roches commune d' Abilly, near the beautiful town of Descartes. The house is maison en pierre [Tuffeu stone] with a render finish. Touffeu stone is typical of the Loire Valley region. The house has a small wood at the rear of the property and a south facing patio area, with lawns to front and sides of the house which are fenced off and walled. The house has 1 acre in total, and has its own private drive. The house is only 2 minutes away from the shops, restauraunts and bars. There is a park for the children, a swimming pool complex, boules, tennis and also kyak hire. The house has beautiful views of the Loire countryside in the heartland of fairy tale chateaus, medieval castles and is near too all the major vinyards of the region including Chinnon, Bourgeuil, Ste Bourgeuil, Saumur, Vouvray plus many many more. Maison Calme has a French charm, and is very relaxing with a large newly fitted kitchen, microwave, cooker with oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The lounge is 42m2 and has a comfortable sofa clic clak, TV, Video, Cd/Hi Fi, radio and large dinning table. The house has 4 large bedrooms and will comfortably sleep 8 people plus a cot. GROUND FLOOR Large kitchen fitted to high standards, giving lots of space for the inspirational chef. Corridor to bathoom with walk in shower, large deep French bath, washbasin and bidet. Adjacent to the bathroom you have the laundry room with washing machine, ironing board, iron, washbasin and rear door to the garden. Ajacent to laundry room is a toillet. Also on ground floor is a large 42m2 lounge with dinning table at one end, TV, video, sofa and blue cane chairs at the other end.. FIRST FLOOR Large oak staircase which leads to 4 large bedrooms, 2 with oak flooring and rugs. All have comfortable beds with high quality mattresses and bedding. BEDROOM 1 (1 Double bed) BEDROOM 2 (1 Double bed) BEDROOM 3 (2 single beds, plus single sofa bed to suit young child) BEDROOM 4 (2 single beds) Travel cot and stair gate available for your use. All rooms have shutters. Windows with lovely views. THE GARDEN. We have a small wood to the rear of house surrounded by a wall, ideal and hide seek for the children. The front of the house has a patio with table and 8 chairs, parasol and bbq. In front of this is a hedge giving total privacy when you want to dine. The garden is 1 acre, where you can see red squirrals, cuckcoos, woodpeckers and rabbits. New for 2004 private swimming pool for your exclusive use. THE AREA. Les Roches, commune d' Abilly near Descartes is 30 miles south of Tours in the south Touraine. An idilic part of the Loire Valley. There
is plenty to see and do for all age groups including, Chateau's,
zoos, parks, swimming, churchs and watersports. |
